Russians Killed in Crash

A plane had taken off from Moscow headed to a Russian air base in Syria. The Russian army choir were in a plane so that they could perform for the army in Syria for New Years.

There were over 90 people in the plane. After the crash only a few of the bodies have been found. They crashed in the Black Sea near Sochi. A full investigation is taking place to find everyone that was on the plane.

“I rule out version of the terror attack completely. It is the aircraft of the Ministry of Defense, the airspace of the Russian Federation, there cannot be such a version,” Ozerov is quoted as saying. “The plane had to make a U-turn after takeoff over the sea (and) may (have taken) the wrong direction.” CNN. They do not believe that the crash happened due to terrorism, they believe that it was a malfunction with the Russian Tu-154 or because of a pilot error in direction.

The Russian Investigation Committee is investigating why the crash happened, and how it happened. They are investigating the preparation and flight safety rules to help them understand what exactly happened. They will question those who helped prepare the flight and come up with an answer to the reason of the plane crash.

This is why Monday is now considered a National Day of Mourning, Russian President Vladimir Putin had announced to everyone. So that way people can think of the Russian ensemble, journalists, and other people who were on the plane the day of the crash.

Some 45 ships and more than 3,500 rescue workers are involved in the search for plane debris and for any remains. Searchers used helicopters, drones and submersibles to look for bodies and debris.

The rescue teams have recovered 11 bodies as well as fragments of bodies. Those were flown to Moscow, where the remains will be identified.
