Cardinals of the Week: March 14-18
March 16, 2022
Melissa High School is continuing to honor students and faculty members that display the core values on a consistent basis. Each week one student and one staff member will be spotlighted and awarded a certificate and some treats. The staff member will also be presented with a “traveling trophy.”
The Student Cardinal of the Week is freshman Khalil Salaam.
Khalil was nominated by Ms. Birinyi who had this to say: “Khalil Salaam is my choice for student of the week. He is one of the sweetest young men that I have had the privilege to see daily. He is a gentleman to everyone and is willing to help out wherever needed. His politeness rubs off on others and he is one of the most respectful young men that I know. He brings a positive attitude to class and a strong drive and willingness to work while overcoming challenges. He shares treats with the class and is very thoughtful of others. He will ask how my week is going and actually cares about the answer. He possesses great artistic talent. The characters he draws and technique with attention to detail brighten my day. He is a great role model and a wonderful representation of what a Melissa Cardinal is all about. Congratulations on being the student of the week!”
The Teacher Cardinal of the Week is Ms. Stacie Entzminger, CTE Principles of Education teacher.
Ms. Entzminger was nominated by Ms. Birinyi who had this to say: “Stacie Entzminger is an amazing educator. She covers after-school duties when asked and is happy to help where needed inside and outside of school. She is a great team player and has a great rapport with her students. She is a sweet person inside and out and is a really hard worker. Not only is she a great educator and parent of Melissa Cardinals, but she is also successful as a student. She is up late most nights studying away and finishing assignments for her grad school class. She can easily relate to students, teachers, and parents alike. I also appreciate her coming to school with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She is a great asset to Team Melissa and very deserving of Teacher of the Week.”
