Cardinal Update

  • Congratulations to both varsity boys and girls soccer for advancing to the playoffs! Their bi-district matches will be Friday, March 25, at Lovejoy High School’s Leopard Stadium. Both teams will take on Sunnyvale. Melissa will be the home team. The girls game will start at 6 p.m. with the boys following at approximately 7:45. Ticket prices are $6 adult; $4 student.   • Congratulations to freshman Khalil Salaam and CTE teacher Ms. Stacie Entzminger for being named Cardinals of the Week. Click here to read more.
  • Prom will be held April 30 from 7-11 p.m. at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Prom is only open to MHS juniors and seniors and their guests. Ticket sales begin March 21. Click here to read more.
  • The Melissa Choirs would like to invite you to their Pre-UIL Concert in the Melissa Arts Center on Thurs., March 24 at 7:00 p.m. The choir concert will feature songs the students have prepared for the spring UIL contest season. Admission is FREE. We hope to see you there!
  • SENIORS: Are you applying for scholarships? Visit www.melissaisd.org/scholarships for a list of available scholarship opportunities reviewed by our counselors, including the Melissa Education Foundation general scholarship application, which closes March 25. To apply for MEF scholarships, students can either apply online or submit their completed application to Ms. Stephens (A210) or the administration office; check your email for the MEF checklist and application to print.
  • Make-up Days: Monday, March 28, and Thursday, May 26 are Melissa ISD’s two Bad Weather Make-Up Days for the 2021-2022 school year. Students will have school both days to make up for the unexpected weather-related school closures that took place in February; this also means that the last day of school is May 26. Both of these make-up days will be Red Days for high school.
  • Melissa ISD is celebrating Kindness Week from March 28 – April 1, 2022! Kindness Week encourages acts of kindness and expressions of gratitude in our schools and community. To learn more about Kindness Week and find out how your family can participate, visit www.melissaisd.org/bekind.
