[Opinion] How to prepare for finals

The end of the year finals are coming fast, May 23-26 (click here to view the schedule), so students may want to start studying for those challenging classes.
Exams can be stressful, so it is essential to spread out studying to avoid panic and improve grades. Here are a few tips to keep these next few weeks less stressful:
Get a Planner
A planner is an excellent way to stay organized and keep focused. Students can plan their study time and how long each day. We recommend setting at least 30 minutes a day aside for studying. If students plan accordingly, they will be prepared with minimal stress and planning.
Exercise
Exercise is a good stress reliever. When students get too stressed with studying for classes, they should take a break and do a few jumping jacks or go for a run. Exercise releases endorphins in the brain that reduce stress and can even help retain the information just studied.
Sleep
While this one might seem apparent, sleeping is a great way to relieve the stress from studying. Instead of cramming in information late the night before, students should go to bed early and get plenty of rest. Students often don’t remember things done late at night, so they are wasting time studying and not getting enough sleep to keep the brain awake for the actual final.
All in all, finals may still cause stress, but there are some easy ways to reduce that stress. If students follow these tips, they can be less stressed studying and even improve scores.
