Environmental Club seeks volunteers to conduct waste audits

The Environmental Club, which meets on Fridays during session B of MegaLunch in room A402, is looking for volunteers to help audit waste here on campus after school on a few select dates.

“Our reason for conducting this audit is to gather data on our current waste stream and determine a better approach for managing it,” club president Aryanna Sirota said. “Ultimately, we are trying to establish a recycling program in the Student Union.”

The dates for the waste audits will be April 25, April 28, and May 5. They will all take place after school starting at 4 p.m.

“We will meet in the Student Union to sort the trash into landfill waste and different recyclables,” Sirota said.

Students who sign up and participate can also record their service hours for National Honor Society or Interact.

“Overall, this will be a great experience for them to get involved with improving our school,” Sirota said.

Students interested in volunteering can sign up with this link (or just show up at the Student Union at 4 p.m. on either of the dates).
