Students compete at VASE competition in San Marcos

Students attended the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) competition in San Marcos on April 30. At regionals, 31,000 submissions were submitted, and less than 2,000 were chosen to compete at state.
The Gold Seal competition consisted of only 150 contestants. Senior Emma Bean received a Gold Seal for her self-portrait. Sophomore Christie Weaver and senior Micah Berger both received medals for their art work.
This year, these art pieces will be displayed in a traveling exhibit ending with the Texas Art Education Association’s {TAEA) state conference.
