Administration held a classroom door decorating contest for the holidays. Everyone was asked to decorate their door, but participation was strictly voluntary.

Counselors Karen Gracy and Emily Chapman decided to decorate counselor Christina Stover’s door with door decal of a 70’s couple in ugly Christmas sweaters. However, they chose to replace the heads with photos of their own heads.

“We decided to prank her,” Chapman said, “It did not cost anything to complete it and took over 2 hours to get it done.”

Ms. Gracy and Mrs. Chapman also completed their doors with the theme from the book ‘The Cat in the Hat’ by Dr.

Seuss. They decided to be Thing 1 and Thing 2 for the contest.

“We went to Pinterest, got the idea, and completed the doors. It took at least three hours to completely finish,” Chapman said.

Debra Helmberger, Newspaper and Photography teacher, decorated her door based off a yearbook page. Her door ended up being a winner of the contest. The prizes were cupcakes, cookies, and poinsettias.

“One of my yearbook students, Abby Kusano, came up with the idea and some of my yearbook and newspaper kids helped complete it,” Helmberger said. “It took about 3 days so the kids could gather information, pictures, and quotes.”

The office staff decorated their doors as well.

“ Instead of using money we used our resources,” Venus Malone said.
