Student organizations offer childcare to staff for holiday shopping

Together, Student Council, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) host fun activities for Melissa ISD teacher’s kids.

To demonstrate appreciation to Melissa ISD staff, the Student Council (STUCO); Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA); and Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) hosted childcare service for holiday shopping and a child-free lunch on Dec. 2.

These organizations watched children ranging from preschool to fifth grade in the Melissa Middle School gyms from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., where the kids participated in a series of games and activities organized by the groups in addition to lunch.

The activities included interacting with REAL reindeer, cookie decorating, board games, ornament decorating, make-your-own holiday snack mix and more.
