Teachers move into 2nd floor of new academic building

A new hallway leads to classrooms on the 2nd floor.

Earlier this year, new classrooms became available for teaching and usage. On Jan. 3, when students returned from winter break, most of the second floor of the new four-story academic expansion opened.

All of the portable building teachers had to move so that the portable buildings could be relocated to elementary campuses to relieve overcrowding at those schools.

In the fall of 2023, the construction company promised that the first few classrooms of the new academic center would be accessible after winter break was over. Those first few classrooms were only available on the second floor.

Principal Marcus Eckert says that if construction progress stays on schedule, Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers will move into their first floor classrooms by the end of March. The main office will not transition to the new space until the summer break. The third and fourth floors of the new building will open in the fall of 2024.
