The University Interscholatic League (UIL) released the new 2024-26 alignments for football, volleyball and basketball on Feb. 1. The Cardinals will continue to compete in 5A in all extracurricular activities and 5A Division 2 in football. Football will head to District 4-5A Division 2 in Region 1, while volleyball and basketball remain in District 9-5A in Region 2.
Along with Lovejoy and Denison, Cardinal football is joined by four Frisco schools, Anna and Prosper Walnut Grove to complete the nine-team district consisting of the following:

- Denison
- Frisco Emerson
- Frisco Independence
- Frisco Liberty
- Frisco Memorial
- Lucas Lovejoy
- Melissa
- Prosper Walnut Grove
The volleyball and basketball alignments remain roughly the same for the Cardinals. Princeton moved up to class 6A, while Anna and Prosper Walnut Grove join the new mix of eight district teams:

- McKinney North
- Melissa
- Prosper Walnut Grove
- Sherman
