- BEST CATCHER IN THE NATION: Freshman Hutton Adrian has been nominated for Best Catcher in the Nation! Click HERE to vote to help her win. Voting closes May 14 @ 11 p.m.
- SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS: Varsity Softball defeated Huntsville to become area champs last week. They will next face Kingwood Park in a series for the regional quarterfinals round. The first game is May 9 at 6 p.m. at Rusk HS. Game 2 will be played May 10 at 4:30 p.m., and Game 3 (if needed) will be May 11 @ 1:00 p.m.
- CONGRATULATIONS to the One Act Play (OAP) cast and crew for advancing to STATE! They finished in 2nd place at the 5A UIL Region 2 Contest on April 27. They will compete at the 5A state contest on May 17 during Session II, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Click HERE for more info.
- CONGRATULATIONS to the Academic UIL Team for finishing in 2nd place at the 5A Region 2 Meet held at UT-Arlington on April 26-27. Five students qualified for the state meet. Click HERE to read more.
- OAP PERFORMANCES: Anyone who wants to see the state-advancing OAP “This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing” can view a FREE performance on May 10 at 7 p.m. in the Performance Hall of the Melissa Arts Center. The junior varsity play entry will also be performed.
- SPRING GAME DAY: The Melissa Cardinals return to the field for Spring Game Day on May 10, in preparation for the upcoming football season. The game is FREE to attend. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium with community tailgating starting at 5:30 p.m. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade can participate in the ultimate “Game Day Experience” with a varsity football player or cheerleader. - 2024-25 COURSE REQUESTS: Students and guardians can now view course requests for the 2024-25 school year in HAC. Click here for more information. Students wanting to make a change must complete the MHS Course Change Request Form by May 10 at 4 p.m.

- CARDINAL CAMPS: Melissa ISD offers a variety of sports and fine arts camps during the summer break from school. Cardinal Camps are led by the coaching staff of Melissa High School. Click HERE to learn more and register for a camp.
- DIGITAL SAT ESSENTIALS COURSE: MHS has partnered with The Princeton Review to offer a Digital SAT Essentials Course, which runs July 13-Aug. 20 on Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. Click HERE for more info.
- IB INSIGHTS: We are thrilled to announce that the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is coming to Melissa High School in the fall of 2025! This initiative marks a significant milestone for our school and for the educational opportunities available to our students. Over the past two years, we have been diligently working towards this goal, and we are now in the final steps of authorization. In the fall of 2024, we will welcome a verification visit from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), an essential part of the authorization process. This visit allows us to showcase our commitment to delivering a high-quality IB education and provide an opportunity for our school to demonstrate readiness for the program. Our dedicated team is developing a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum tailored to meet the needs of our students.
