- PICTURE DAY: All 9th-11th grade students will be photographed for the yearbook on Sept. 17 by the school photographer, CADY. Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Oct. 23.
- STUDENT COUNCIL: Interested in joining Student Council? The first meeting will take place during B lunch on Sept. 18 in room A130. Attendance is required for those who wish to participate in Student Council.
- MEGA LUNCH: Mega Lunch begins Sept. 18. All students will be required to build their schedule weekly using Securly Flex (formerly FlexTime Manager) and attend one 30-minute session each day–an academic or club/organization for 30 minutes and lunch for 30 minutes. Click HERE for more info.
- DRESS UP THEMES: The dress up theme for the football game on Sept. 19 is USA and for the volleyball games on Sept. 20, the theme is “Dress Like a Coach.”
- PSAT/NMSQT: MHS will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on campus on Oct. 9. Seats are limited and will be offered to sophomores and juniors on a first come, first served basis. The cost to take the test is $19. Students will receive an email through their student email address containing a link to the registration form, which opens at 4 p.m. on Sept. 4. Registration will remain open until Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. or until all seats are filled. For more information, please click HERE.
- DUAL CREDIT: Collin College will hold a dual credit parent orientation meeting on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. via Zoom. The live presentation will also be recorded for those unable to join the meeting and be posted for later viewing. Click here for more info.
- PARENTAL CONSENT: Melissa ISD parents and guardians were sent two emails on Sept. 6 with information about parental consent requirements regarding a) prevention education for student safety, b) teen general wellness screenings, and c) library book checkout. - SENIOR PORTRAITS: CADY Photography will come to campus on Sept. 24 to take senior portraits. Students must still make an appointment through cady.com. Seniors have to be photographed by CADY in order to be included in the yearbook. The yearbook-only photos are free of charge and all apparel is provided for the photoshoot. - DRIVER’S ED: Driver’s Ed sign-up is available in the main office of the new building. The next class begins Sept. 25.
- SEE YOU AT THE POLE: Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will host the annual national event on Sept. 25 at 7 a.m. at the flagpoles in front of the high school. Join FCA for music, prayer and fellowship.
- CAMPUS DRIVERS: The Melissa Schools police department cautions students, parents and teachers driving on or around campus to obey the speed limits at all times. The police WILL issue citations!
