The Fellowship of Christian Athletes club hosted the annual Trunk-or-Treat event, which took place in the high school parking lot and was open to families across the community.
Student organizations decorated car trunks with creative themes and handed out candy to children who stopped by. Each year, the event continues to grow, bringing students, teachers, and families together for a night of Halloween fun.
“It’s one of the biggest events we do in the fall,” junior Riley Brock, a Student Council member, said. “We’ve been planning for weeks, and everyone’s really excited to make it special this year.”
Brock said the Student Council wanted to create an event that would let families celebrate safely while showing off Melissa High’s school spirit.
The event also gives students a chance to be creative. Many clubs compete to see who can come up with the most unique theme or decoration idea.
“It’s fun to see everyone come together,” varsity football player Logan Zschau said. “You can tell people really care. It’s not just about candy, it’s about making it fun for the kids and showing school spirit for fun holidays.”
For many, Trunk or Treat has become an exciting fall tradition that brings the town together. Brock said she’s proud to be part of an event that brings so much excitement to campus.
“Every year, people come, and it’s awesome to see how much support we get,” Brock said. “It shows how close our community is, even as we keep growing.”
