Baseball “Meet the Cardinals” | March 27

Join us for the Melissa Cardinals Baseball team’s Meet the Cardinals Event tonight, March 27, at 5:00 p.m. at the Melissa Z-Plex. Enjoy games, concessions, spirit wear, and the chance for young fans to meet players and coaches, take photos, and collect autographs. Melissa ISD is proud to celebrate Melissa High School’s debate program for qualifying two teams for the UIL Cross-Examination State Debate Tournament. Competing against the top teams in Texas, both teams delivered outstanding performances, with Hayden Maynard and Manya Kaushik finishing in the top eight and Lauren Nager and Ruby Terry advancing to the semifinals to place in the top three. Ruby also earned top individual honors as the state’s #1 speaker, receiving the UIL 5A Cross-Examination Golden Gavel Award. These achievements reflect the students’ dedication, preparation, and teamwork throughout the season. Band Celebrates 55 State Solo & Ensemble Qualifiers

The Melissa High School Band earned 7 First Division ratings at the Region 25 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest on February 28, with 55 musicians qualifying for the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest (TSSEC) in Austin this May. These students performed advanced Class 1 solos, showcasing their exceptional skill and dedication. Their hard work and talent reflect the strength of the Melissa High School Band program. One-Act Play Advances to Area

The Melissa High School One-Act Play is advancing to the Area competition with their production of Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice! Their hard work and dedication earned them a spot at the Area on April 11 at Lebanon Trail High School. Several students also received individual awards for their outstanding performances. Golf Team Invites Community to Golf Pavilion Open House

The Melissa High School Golf Program invites the community to an Open House for the new Melissa Schools Golf Pavilion, located at 3840 FM 545 (near East Cardinal Middle School), on Thursday, April 9, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This event offers a first look at the new facility and the opportunity to meet the MHS Golf team. Guests can enjoy interactive games, including a chance to compete against our student-athletes, while also grabbing ice cream and shopping for exclusive MHS Golf merchandise created and sold by Red Nation Outfitter. We hope you’ll make plans to join us for an evening of connection and community as we celebrate this exciting addition for our students.

Announcing MHS “Regency Ball” Junior/Senior Prom on April 11, 2026

The Melissa High School “Regency Ball” Junior/Senior Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the Sheraton McKinney. Save the Date! Kindergarten Round-Up Scheduled for April 16

Parents and guardians of students entering Kindergarten this fall are encouraged to ‘Save the Date’ for Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, April 16, 2026. This is a come-and-go event and will be open from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Auxiliary Gym on the Cardinal Renaissance Academy Campus, 2950 Cardinal Dr. Kindergarten Round-Up is an opportunity for parents to finalize enrollment, meet the school principal, learn about special programs, and meet representatives from Transportation Services, Child Nutrition, Health Services, PTO, and more.
