The annual Academic Expo will be held on Feb. 5, 2020, from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. at the high school. This event will allow current students and incoming students to be able to see what classes they’re interested in and what MHS can provide them academically in the upcoming year. Students will also be able to see whether the classes they are interested in are classes they still want to take.

Teachers, counselors and staff members have provided a list of helpful tips:

  • If students have questions about honors or dual credit courses, they should visit with the English, Math, Science, and Social Studies teachers or Counselors.
  • All Course Request Forms must be completed and submitted to the student’s English teacher by Feb. 7, 2020.
  • Students should prioritize their elective courses with #1 being their top choice. Students should follow the instructions on the Course Request sheet as to how many choices to rank.
  • It’s important for students to take courses within their endorsement area(s): Business & Industry, Arts and Humanities, Public Service, STEM, and/or Multidisciplinary. Students should determine the courses that interest them and visit those teachers.
  • All 8th graders must also turn in their 4-Year Planning Document form to their English teacher by Feb. 7, 2020. This form is located in the MHS Course Catalog and will be provided at the Academic Expo and online.
