Billie Eilish sweeps Grammy awards

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards was held on Jan. 26, 2020, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Billie Eilish, who is only 18-years-old, won five of six awards for which she was nominated, including the night’s biggest awards.

Eilish took home awards for Best New Artist, Best Song and Record of the Year for “Bad Guy,” and Album of the Year for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? In a pre-broadcast ceremony, her debut album When We All Fall Asleep was also named Best Pop Vocal Album.

We interviewed freshman Annalee White to get her thoughts on the teen sensation.

What did you think of Billie Eilish sweeping the Grammys?
“It is not surprising because a lot of people really like her music, but I didn’t really see it coming because I don’t really pay attention to pop culture.”

How good do you think her music is?
“Her music is very okay. I don’t listen to her songs, but I have heard that one song of hers, “Bad Guy,” and it’s good.”

What is your favorite song from her album?
“My favorite song from her album is “Bad Guy” and maybe “When the Party’s Over.”
