Cardinal Brief: February 22-26
Senior Jaydyn Bullard drives towards the goal during the bi-district match against Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy. The Lady Cards defeated the Lady Eagles, 59-18, on Feb. 12. They also defeated Lincoln on Feb. 20, 67-47, to earn the area title. They will now move on to the regional quarterfinal round of the state playoffs.

Cardinal Update
- The varsity girls basketball team will play Midlothian Heritage for the regional quarterfinal round of the state playoffs Thurs., Feb. 25 at 7:00 p.m. at JJ Pearce High School in Richardson. Tickets may be purchased online here. You can also listen to the game online tonight or watch it online through the NFHS Network.
- This Friday, Feb. 26, teachers will only be available remotely after noon. The power is being shut off for construction purposes from noon to 4 p.m. so students should plan accordingly if needing to come to campus for tutorials. Students will NOT be allowed in the building after 12 p.m.
- Course Registrations Forms are due soon! Incoming seniors (current 11th graders) due Feb. 25. Incoming soph. and juniors (current 9th and 10th graders) due March 2. Visit this link for important info to help you choose your classes.
- Cheer tryouts have been postponed one week. The tryout material, application, and constitution will be posted this Friday. Clinics will start March 1 and tryouts will take place on March 4. Visit the cheerleading web page for more info.
- Join the Melissa Media Productions Team next school year! Help maintain the Banner News web site with articles, photos, graphics and videos. Assist with the morning PA announcements and graphics for the TV monitors. Maintain our social media accounts. Register for Graphic Design with Mass Communication emphasis!
- The next driver’s ed class will begin on March 2. If interested, stop by the front office to signup and pickup paperwork.
- Tickets for Curtains musical, which will premier in the new Melissa Arts Center (MAC) in March, are now on sale. Click here for more info and link to purchase tickets.
