Cardinal Update

  • Girls Varsity Wrestling hosted their district duel last night with all varsity wrestlers winning their matches against Gunter and Anna. Senior Captain Ashley Vasquez won by pin easily in the first round, against both opponents, which brings her overall record to 11-2. Sammy Brown also won both matches by pin bringing her overall record to 12-4. Vanessa won by forfeit and pin last night, which brings her overall record to 8-3. Great job, ladies!
  • Last night Boys Varsity Wrestling also had a home meet against Gunter and Wylie East. They went 1-1 on the night, going down to the wire with Wylie East and losing 34-36 before beating Gunter 57-6. Seniors Ethan Weimer, Dylan Herrin, Isaiah Hogan, Jay Ndanzia, and Bryson Zufelt all went 2-0 on the night. Zufelt remains undefeated this season. Their  next action will be this Saturday morning at Frisco High School. Come out and support!

  • Congratulations to One Act Play for becoming bi-district champs! They will now advance to regionals. More info to follow.
  • Congratulations to the varsity girls soccer team for earning the title of district champs! They will play Athens for bi-district on Thursday @ 6 p.m. at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. Click here for tickets and other important info.
  • Congratulations to the varsity boys soccer team for advancing to the bi-district playoffs! They will face Terrell on Friday @ 8 p.m. in Greenville. Click here for tickets and other important info.

  • Juniors: The applications for Camp RYLA have arrived!  If you want to be considered for this incredible leadership opportunity, please see Ms. Stover in Room A210 for an application, which are due Fri., March 26. Only three juniors will be selected to attend Camp RYLA in early August. Aren’t sure what exactly Camp RYLA is about?  Check out their videos at www.RYLA5810.org.
  • Seniors: The Melissa Education Foundation scholarship application is now open and the deadline to apply is March 26.
  • Seniors: Caps and gowns will be delivered March 30 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. near the Student Union.
  • Prom will be held this year with a Great Gatsby theme. Tickets will go on sale March 30. Click here for more info.
