The Lady Cards celebrate their 4A Region 2 Bi-District victory. They defeated Ranchview (Irving, TX) 22-0 on April 29. Now they will advance to the area round.

Cardinal Update

  • Congratulations to the Lady Cards Softball Team! They earned the bi-district title with a 22-0 victory over Ranchview Thursday night. They will now advance to the area round against Henderson at LD Bell High School, Fri., May 7 @ 5:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the gate. Cash ONLY!
  • Congratulations and good luck to freshman Victoria Majdan as she competes at the state lacrosse tournament on May 8 in Houston. Click here for photo and more info.
  • 1st Annual Field Day – Fri., May 21: Students, signup for events. The deadline to order a Class Color T-Shirt is Thurs., May 6. Click here to order.

  • Congratulations to freshman Tyler Mathieson for placing 2nd in Computer Applications at the 4A Academic UIL State Meet.
  • Congratulations to Melissa Theatre! They received notice of 12 award nominations in the Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) program including Best Musical. These award nominations are for their recent performances of Curtains. Click here for more info.
  • The next driver’s ed class will start on May 12 and there are only a limited number of spots. Students can sign up in the main office on the first floor.
  • Auditions are coming up for next year’s theatre production class and for the 2021 fall musical. For more information or for audition packets, email Ms. Moore at [email protected] or stop by the Black Box before or after school.
  • Seniors: An email was sent on Tuesday with info about reserving a suite for graduation at the Allen Events Center. You can also click here for an updated version of Class of 2021 Information. 
  • Seniors: We want to celebrate your future plans! Email your counselor a photo of you and your acceptance letter in order to be featured on the #Accepted Wall.
  • 9-11th grade students: Check your 2021-22 course selections in the Ascender Student Portal. Click here for more info. If you need to request a course change, then complete this Google form. All course changes need to be requested by May 21. No changes will be made in August!
  • Any students 16 or older interested in receiving the Pfizer COVID vaccine, click here for more info.
  • Parents: You should have received a Remind message asking you to participate in a survey about MHS. You can also access that survey by clicking this link. The deadline is Thurs., May 6.
  • The Melissa Education Foundation (MEF) will host its 10th Annual Give Them Wings Co-Ed Softball Tournament on May 22 at the Zadow Park Ballfields. Click here to learn more and to register. All players must be 14 years of age or older and teams must consist of five men and five women.

Mrs. Wooten has a room full of students on Friday morning getting in a last-minute STAAR review.
