Junior Taylor Hendrickson poses with her medal after winning first place at the district SkillsUSA contest in cosmetology.

Junior Taylor Hendrickson competed in the district level SkillsUSA contest for Cosmetology earlier this spring and won first place. That qualified her for the state competition, which was held April 20. At state, Taylor had to complete three haircuts, a formal updo, a color consultation, and a written test. She aced all those tasks with flying colors and became the TOP scorer in the STATE!

Taylor is part of the CTE Cosmetology collaboration that Melissa High School has with Princeton High School. For more information about the program, students can speak to their counselor or CTE Coordinator Doug Bingman.
