The Career and Technical Education (CTE) program had 13 students qualify for the SkillsUSA State Contest, which will be held April 3-6 in Corpus Christi. The students represented MHS by competing in several different events at the SkillsUSA District Contest held Feb. 9 and Feb. 15-17.
SkillsUSA is “America’s proud champion of the skilled trades,” per the organization’s website. “Our mission is to empower students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members.”
The students advanced to state in Applied Engineering, Barbering, Computer Programming, Cosmetology, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Technology Computer Applications. Team and individual results are the following:
