“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, is a story about a common man’s triumph in the big business world.

This comedy took Broadway by storm, and includes everything from hardworking company men, to  backstabbing co-workers, and, of course, true love.

The Theatre Production class has been working many long hours to prepare for their edition of the show. They have been practicing eight hours a week, since the first day of school. The cast and crew also had a week-long dance intensive camp over the summer.

“I look forward to the audience seeing the dancing and vocal ability of the cast,” Drew Richardson, senior, said. “The choreography is much more technical and fun to watch, but hard to learn for a klutz like me, and the vocals in this show are the best we’ve ever had.”

The production officially opens on November 1, with four more shows to follow on Nov. 10, Nov. 11, Nov. 15, and Nov. 17. All shows are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. except for the November 11 showing, that will be begin at 3 p.m. The production will be held in the Black Box, located in the Fine Arts Building at the high school.

I have always loved this show and wanted to produce it for several years now.” Megan Moore, Director, said. “I selected it as our fall show this year because I felt we finally had the right group of students for the production. Now that we have the show up and running, I know we made the right decision for this year’s cast and crew.”

Ticket sales will remain open through the entire run of the show, or until sold out. To purchase tickets visit the Melissa ISD school’s website or click the link below.

“I am most excited to share this show with our community,” Megan Moore said. “It is not as well known as other musicals we’ve presented, and I can’t wait to see the audience reaction to this fun production.”
