On Oct. 25, both the varsity girls and boys cross country teams competed at the UIL 4A-1 regional meet. Both teams advanced to state, with the boys scoring second place and the girls getting fourth. The state meet will take place on Nov. 6 at Old Settlers Park in Roundrock, TX.

Junior Abigail Bass broke the course record by 34 seconds and got a personal best with a 2-mile time of 10:45, 15 seconds ahead of second place. Other members of the girl’s team also scored a personal best at this meet. Additionally, for the first time in nine years, the girl’s team is going to state. The boys also did well, with sophomore Logan Tauch coming in fourth place with the rest of the team not far behind.
